Joe’s expertise is in recommending and setting up general ledger packages that are easy to use yet provide the client with the information they need to manage their business. QuickBooks and Accounting Systems Joe is the QuickBooks expert at Porter & Sack, CPAs, S.C. Joe is responsible for teaching staff members and clients how to use QuickBooks. Joe helps clients select the most suitable QuickBooks product for their needs. His strong understanding of the software allows him to identify the most efficient means of entering data in QuickBooks, keeping in mind the desired output. Joe has the ability to recognize the desired output needed, and knows how to get it into the software. He then helps the business owner generate the reports that provide the information, and explains what the data on the report tells the owner/director. He is a strong believer that an accounting system must be able to function as a management tool, and knows how to make that happen. Joe also has considerable experience with point of sale systems, and can recommend and install a suitable point of sale system for most small businesses. Tax Planning/Small Business Consulting Joe works almost exclusively with small business clients in the planning and preparation of business tax returns. He is able to advise clients on business tax issues, including payroll tax and sales tax compliance. Joe has audit, review, and compilation experience with non-profit organization clients of Porter & Sack, and the preparation of forms 990 and Wisconsin Department of Regulation forms 308 and 1952.
