Inside this Issue
Over the years I’ve heard from many accounting professionals that one of their biggest challenges is reaching new clients. Offering seminars to your community is a powerful and proven way to get in front of new people and showcase your knowledge. However, putting on a seminar is no small task – from marketing, to booking the venue, to handling registration – let alone the hours involved creating the training materials. That is why we created our QuickBooks Step-by-Step Seminar System, which I’m happy to announce is now available as a "versionless" system that you can use to teach QuickBooks to your clients. Thanks so much to Deborah Pembrook, our Director of Educational Products, for working so diligently on this outstanding teaching system. We’ve been very busy planning all our events for 2012. We are excited to get back on the road this summer. Joining me on our "Small Business Technology Road Show" will be technology-guru Randy Johnston, of K2 Enterprises and NGMI. We’ll present nine seminars throughout the US where we’ll invite accountants AND THEIR CLIENTS to join us for an information-packed day of small business technologies that exemplify how the new world of cloud solutions, mixed with desktop apps we all use today, can completely change how small businesses operate and collaborate with their accountant. The road show tour be held during July and August in Tampa, Atlanta, Secaucus, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and San Francisco. See www.sleeter.com/roadshow for details. I hope to see you this summer at a Small Business Technology Road Show seminar near you, and at the 2012 Accounting Solutions Conference in Anaheim!
Just Released – NEW QuickBooks Step-by-Step Seminar System - Version 2012 "The best part of Sleeter’s QuickBooks Seminar System is that you can basically open the box, set a date, and teach the seminars. Everything is done for you the marketing ideas, the templates for flyers, planning procedures – it’s all there and done with perfection, I know that when I teach from this system, I am giving my students the best there is to give." "There really isn’t a better set of materials for workshops or seminars on QuickBooks."

| Sleeter Group Consultants Network - Tricks of the Trade | ||
Every day, members of the Sleeter Group Consultants Network tackle the day-to-day problems of their clients in the real world. The following is an example problem-and-solution that surfaced this month on our Sleeter Consultants’ Experts Forum.
Question: I am currently working with a client that uses MAS 90 and they have a tool that will allow them to post A/P in one company and then automatically allocate the
expenses to other company files. Is there a way to post A/P into one company and automatically allocate the expense into one or more different QB company files?
Know of any 3rd party apps?
The client does not want to have to post multiple transactions within the files
because they have approx. 100 different company files.
Ruth Perryman and Hubert Hawthorn responded: Try Karl Irvin’s Intercompany Transfer Utility.
Mary Longacre added: I work with a lot of multi-company clients. Does your client want the other companies to reimburse the paying company, or is the first company paying the bills and they just need to assign costs?
Bay State Consulting’s Multi-Company Bill Disbursement Utility (MCBDU) will take
a bill from Company A and allow you to tell it what amounts, accounts, customers
and billable status, and classes to assign to portions of the bill to be reimbursed by other companies. Then the Utility creates both the invoice for reimbursement in Company A and the bills in the other companies. Click here for a complete step-by-step demo of the MCBDU.
If there is no reimbursement necessary, just cost assignment, I am currently
developing with Bay State a tool that will allow the user to distribute costs across multiple companies with a one-step bill entry with additional features for managing A/P. It should be available later this summer. Let me know if you want more information.
