Can QuickBooks Pro and Non-Pro trade files?

Summary

I have a client that has purchased QuickBooks 99 and our office version is QuickBooks Pro 99. The client wanted the setup done by our office, which I have just finished, not thinking about the difference in versions of 99 vs Pro, can I back up the set up and load into the clients 99 version?

Answer

No problem. Pro and non-pro can trade files. This is true for ALL versions of QuickBooks. That is, 99 Pro can trade files with 99 non-pro, and 2000 Pro can trade files with 2000 non-pro. Make sure both of you are at the same "release level" though, because within each version Intuit often changes the file format on new releases. Releases are downloaded from the Internet and they update QuickBooks with bug fixes and new features.
