I loaded an accountant’s copy on my computer from a client. QuickBooks said his file was an older version and to work with it I had to update it to my version. We both have QuickBooks pro 99. Will I be able to import the changes I made?

I loaded an accountant’s copy on my computer from a client. QuickBooks said his file was an older version and to work with it I had to update it to my version. We both have QuickBooks pro 99. Will I be able to import the changes I made?

Not until you upgrade your client to the latest “release” of version 99. Your client needs to download the update. If you check your release level (press Ctrl-1 while in QuickBooks), you will notice that you have QuickBooks Pro 99 release R2 (or R3). Your client probably has R1 and they need to update. Have them select QuickBooks Update Service from their Online menu. It will dial the Internet and automatically download the necessary files. When they exit QuickBooks, it will automatically install the download.
