What is Assisted Data Conversion?
QuickBooks has a specialized team, called the QuickStart team, based in Tucson, AZ. The QuickStart team has helped accountants and end-users convert data from other software programs to QuickBooks for the last three years.

What data is converted?
The QuickStart team can convert basic data from select programs that can export data into Excel. Basic data includes Lists (Accounts, Customer, Vendor, Employee, Items) and summary balances (Trial balance as of specified date, Customer/Vendor balances). A few common programs that would go through a basic conversion are:

The QuickStart team offers the basic conversion PLUS open transactions (Invoices, Bills, Unreconciled Checks/Deposits) for these programs

There are no year version limits on the above programs, and the QuickStart team converts into QuickBooks 2006, 2007 and 2008 editions.

Who is eligible for Assisted Data Conversion?
The Assisted Data Conversion is a free service and is available to all new and existing QuickBooks users.

QuickBooks Conversion Tool
With the release of QuickBooks 2006, QuickBooks customers can now download a free QuickBooks Conversion Tool.

What does the QuickBooks Conversion Tool do?

  1. Captures the current state of your clients' business by automatically moving over key lists, balances, and open transactions from Peachtree 2001-2008, Microsoft Small Business Accounting 2006, or Microsoft Office Accounting 2007.

What are the requirements for using the QuickBooks Data Conversion Tool?
Internet access is required to download the tool. You must have the software you are converting from installed as well as QuickBooks installed on your computer in order to use the tool.
